The Groom
Kéanu Spies.
Kéanu Spies was born in Johannesburg, South Africa to Liesl and Pierre Spies. He moved to the Bay Area when he was 19 to study Computer Science at Stanford University. He moved on to complete his Master’s in Bioinformatics before moving to New York for a year (where he fell in love with Bryan Aldana). Now back in the Bay, Kéanu has his heart set on taking on the generative AI world, climbing, and taking care of Ube, the child they gave birth to.
The Groom
Bryan Aldana.
Bryan Aldana was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to Maricela and Larry Aldana. He also moved to Stanford to study Bioengineering, forgetting to meet the love of his life Kéanu in the process (how rude). Luckily, he moved to New York 2 weeks prior to Kéanu to get his Master’s in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University and karaoke weekly. Back in San Mateo now, Bryan is playing with surgical robots, still singing, and happily living with his favorite two crying babies (Kéanu and Ube).

We hope you enjoyed your day with us. We left with so much joy and love, and it wouldn’t have felt the same without all the pieces and people coming together perfectly. We are so happy that we have such good memories that will last us a lifetime. We will be cementing these memories in photobooks, portraits around our home, and social media obviously.
